Hello. I just discovered your site:) Nice posting. Uzbek and Georgian food is delicious, I agree. I have a blog about Azerbaijani food, which is close to Georgian and has a lot of similarities with Uzbek, too. I'll be posting plovs, kebabs, dumplings and more! http://AZcookbook.com

Hi, everybody! Thanks for inviting me. 2007 was a year I tried new foods, so I'm happy to have a place to share my experiences. I tried Indian food (*YUM*) and learned to make sushi at home. It's not exactly restaurant-grade execution but it tastes good. Looking forward to joining the fray!

Hey MJ - great to hear from you! My veggie addition to the chili would be to use some different kinds of beans. White beans, black beans, pinto, black eyed peas, etc. Any of them work great and cost the same as kidney. I also like to throw in a can of sweet corn. I also like to brown the onions a bit - without meat that adds a bit more flavor. I like to put in a mix of sauce and diced tomatoes. If you want to pass on even the pepper chopping you can buy a little can of green chilis (in the hispanic food aisle) but they do add spice so taste before you add the chili powder. For spices try adding just a little bit of cinnamen with the chili powder. Take care

Hi there!

All I can say is right now I am vehicle for creating loaves of bread. It's the Christmas gift of choice, and my husband just said, "I know you've been baking a lot, but could you make six loaves for us to drop off at my office the day after Christmas?"

Guess how I'll be spending my weekend. Luckily he did all the Christmas shopping already...

Yum! A friend always used to make fun of me for loving bran flakes, but really, they're just so good! And muffins ala bran are even more delicious :) I'll try these over the weekend...

To make a proper bagel you do boil it, but then you bake it. :) I don't have time today, but if I can remember, I'll go look in a bread cookbook I have for a specific receipe and I'll send it to Merujo.-->
